Stream is a process that combines the
right people
and the
right tools
to define the
right requirements.

2 years and many refinements later...
the software industry's first Definition methodology
is born. Stream.
What is Stream?
It is a Software Definition
Methodology.
What Stream isn't.
It is not a Software Development Methodology.
How do they differ?
For the last 20 years companies have been using software
development methodologies (i.e. Rational Unified Process,
Agile, XP, SCRUM, etc.) yet timelines and budgets are
still missed and products are not what the business
or end user envisioned. So we stepped back and took
a look at why these methodologies were not delivering
the right software. The conclusion is they are too heavily
focused on the development and not the definition.
What is the history of Stream?
Stream was created by User Experience and Business Analysis
professionals as a means to streamline the process of
defining requirements.
We combined our expertise in defining business and user
requirements along with innovative tools like iRise.
Finally we added a unique project scoring method that
determines which activities and deliverables are needed
based on a number of project attributes.
What are the steps involved?
There are only 3 phases needed to capture all the user
and business requirements necessary to define software
and web applications.
Insight
OneSpring’s process begins with observation and research
on the business landscape, target customers, marketing
and operational facets of the campaign.
Clarity
Once the target has been established, OneSpring begins
to crystallize the findings gathered from the Insight
phase by creating the customer, content and application
models. These models are designed in a rapid iterative
cycle through product visualization.
Definition
As the final phase in the process, once the objectives
have been achieved OneSpring finalizes the “blueprint”
of the product by detailing and documenting all the
functional and non-functional specifications.
