Role Summary

This hybrid role bridges visual UX design and front-end implementation on a 6-month enterprise application redesign. The UX/UI Designer / Front-End Engineer will craft high-fidelity screen designs in Figma — aligned to the client’s design system — and translate those designs into standards-compliant HTML/CSS/JavaScript for integration into an Angular-based front-end application. Equal parts visual designer and front-end builder, this individual works in close collaboration with the Sr. UX Program Design Lead, Angular engineers, and the client’s IT team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design UI screens and UI components in Figma, following the client’s design system guidelines and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards

  • Develop wireframes, interaction flows, and information architecture artifacts

  • Build an interactive Figma prototype for stakeholder communication and usability testing sessions

  • Implement HTML/CSS/JavaScript for unique screen templates in the application’s front-end presentation layer

  • Collaborate with Angular engineers to ensure design specs translate accurately into Angular components and templates

  • Maintain design-to-code consistency and conduct visual QA reviews across delivered screens

  • Participate in bi-weekly sprint ceremonies: design reviews, stakeholder feedback sessions, and backlog refinement

  • Support usability testing by producing test-ready prototypes and documenting design iterations

  • Ensure all designs and code meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design for enterprise web applications

  • 3+ years of experience in front-end development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma for UI design, component libraries, and interactive prototyping

  • Experience designing within or extending an established design system (component tokens, spacing, typography, color)

  • Solid understanding of information architecture, user flows, and interaction design principles

  • Demonstrated ability to hand off design-ready specs and collaborate directly with front-end/Angular engineers

  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and ARIA patterns

  • Portfolio of UX/UI work and coded implementations required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working alongside Angular development teams; familiarity with Angular component architecture

  • Proficiency with FigJam or Miro for workflow and IA diagramming

  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA for user story management in Agile Scrum environments

  • Exposure to usability testing facilitation and research synthesis
