Application modernization

Redesign and rebuild your critical applications

OneSpring brings research, design, and engineering together to rebuild the applications your business depends on. Better workflows for your people. A clearer path forward for your business.

When the system becomes the bottleneck

Stop working around your software.

When critical software slows your team down, every workaround adds cost and every change becomes a risk. You need more than a technology upgrade. You need an application built around how your business works today.

OneSpring starts with the people and workflows behind your application. We identify what to keep, redesign what gets in the way, and rebuild in manageable stages. The goal: less manual work, simpler workflows, and a system your team can own.

We work with the Best

Modernize without starting over

A clear path from legacy to modern

Move forward with a clear plan, tested designs, and working software delivered in stages.

1. Understand

Find what is worth rebuilding by understanding your users, business priorities, and the system behind them.

2. Redesign

Test a better way of working with real users before investing in the build.

3. Modernize

Replace the highest-value workflows in stages, with engineers accountable for each release.

4. Adopt

Launch with the training, support, and handover your team needs to take ownership.

Diagram of a staged rebuild in three steps. Step 1, discovery and foundation: understand the old system and design the new one while no users move yet. Step 2, parallel build and migration: rebuild one workflow at a time, run it alongside the old system, and compare outputs. Step 3, completion and switch-off: the last workflows move over and the old system goes read-only, then retires. Each step advances only when stable.

No big-bang cutover

How the transition works

1. Prepare

Understand the old system and design the new one before moving users.

2. Move one workflow at a time

Run old and new side by side. Compare outputs and advance only when stable.

3. Retire the old system

After the final workflows move, make the old system read-only, then retire it.

Built for teams that outgrew their software

Is your application holding you back?

For leaders responsible for critical software their teams have outgrown.

People lean on spreadsheets and workarounds.

Small changes take months.

Design and engineering, start to finish

Why OneSpring

You need more than recommendations or a handoff between vendors. OneSpring connects business understanding, product design, and engineering through launch and adoption.

Design around your people

We uncover how work actually gets done, then test a better experience before writing production code.

AI-built. Engineer-owned.

As an OpenAI Select Partner, we use AI to move faster, and engineers own every release.

Your team takes ownership

Adoption is part of the work. We support launch, training, and handover, with ongoing support available.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What is application modernization?

Application modernization is improving an existing application so it is easier to use, maintain, and change, without throwing away what already works. It can range from a targeted fix to a full rebuild, and common approaches include retiring, retaining, rehosting, relocating, repurchasing, replatforming, or refactoring each part.

How do you modernize a legacy application without replacing everything?

Replace it in stages. We start with discovery, redesign the highest-value workflows first, and run the old and new systems side by side so people move over a piece at a time.

How long does application modernization take?

It depends on scope. After discovery we give you a phased plan, so you see working software in months, not years, instead of waiting for one big launch.

Do you work with government agencies?

Yes. More than half of our work has been for government, including federal and county agencies, and we design for Section 508 accessibility from the start.

Do you use AI to rewrite our code?

We use AI to speed up design and engineering, and experienced engineers review and own every release. We don’t hand your system to an automated code conversion.

Where is OneSpring based?

Atlanta, Georgia. We work with clients across the US.
